Services & Research Assistance
The Libraries at Â鶹ÊÓƵ offer a wide range of services, research and reference desk assistance, both on campus and online. Explore the services outlined here and throughout the Library's web pages and Research Guides.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ libraries offer a large print collection as well as
digital resources including databases, electronic books, e-audio books, and streaming
videos and music.
Our print and digital collections are carefully selected to support academic classes.
You may read, listen, watch and enjoy hundreds of books on your phone, eReader or
tablet. Online resources are easy to access when or from the library website.
Requests for research help may be made in person at any campus reference desk or by phone. The provides Florida residents with virtual reference service via live chat and text messaging from 10 AM to midnight Sunday through Thursday (ET), and from 10 AM to 5 PM Friday and Saturday (ET). The is available to patrons 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
A is available through the library website and provides a basic understanding of copyright and the principles of fair use as they apply to the appropriate use of the Libraries’ services and materials.
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ Libraries have a variety of equipment available for student use, including computers, black/white and color printers, scanners, laptops, calculators, etc. Check availability with your campus librarian.
Laptops may be borrowed for a three-week loan period. Students must sign in to the loaner-laptop before it is taken out of the library. All laptops are loaded with MS Office applications and have WiFi access. If there is no hold, laptop loans may be renewed one time.
All borrowers of any Â鶹ÊÓƵ Library equipment must sign an Equipment Loan Agreement, valid for one calendar year.
Librarians will give more in-depth instruction on using subject indexes for research,
placing Interlibrary Loan requests and using specialized research tools. Appointments
with a librarian can be made for individual research assistance.
Note: Honor students should immediately identify themselves and present their card
each time they need library assistance.
The librarians at all four Â鶹ÊÓƵ Libraries are available to help students with their research needs. Assistance may include:
- Finding books (print or ebooks) in the online catalog
- Selecting databases to locate peer-reviewed journal articles
- Evaluating sources for credibility
- Citing resources for a research project

Research Guides, formerly called LibGuides at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, are web pages or online subject and style guides, created by Â鶹ÊÓƵ librarians for specific subjects, majors or courses.
Research Guides quickly link to high-quality recommended resources for your research
paper or project. You will find links to articles, databases, journals, print books,
ebooks, videos, other websites, tutorials and more.
Research Guides are easy to use and understand, and are available online anytime without
logging in. for your next research project.
