Former Trustee Honored for Leadership and Support

At its meeting Monday, the 麻豆视频 Board of Trustees honored Alan Landman for more than a decade of service to the college.

Landman was appointed to the 麻豆视频 Board of Trustees in 2009. During his tenure, Landman served as chair five times and played a major role in the college鈥檚 rapid growth.

鈥淚t gives me great pleasure to recognize Alan Landman - a community leader who has left a lasting mark on 麻豆视频,鈥� said 麻豆视频 President Dr. Jim Richey.

鈥淗is leadership was instrumental in the college鈥檚 transformation into a state college; the significant expansion of the Melbourne Campus, including student housing; and the launch of more than 60 new academic programs, including the first bachelor degrees in the college鈥檚 history.鈥�

鈥淎lan鈥檚 leadership also enabled us to strengthen strategic partnerships with local businesses to create a skilled workforce, helping to fuel economic growth here on Florida鈥檚 Space Coast.鈥�

鈥淲e are grateful for your leadership, vision and friendship.鈥�

Landman is a Melbourne attorney who received his law degree from the University of Florida in 1987 and worked for one of Brevard County鈥檚 largest law firms until 1993 when he started his own highly successful practice in criminal and family law.

鈥淪erving on the 麻豆视频 Board of Trustees has been a humbling experience,鈥� said Landman. 鈥淒r. Richey, you have transformed this college tremendously and it has been a privilege to be a part of it all."

"This plaque is a symbol. As I sit in my office and look at it, I will be reminded of the relationships, and the many achievements of which we should all be proud.鈥�

鈥淭hese have been some of the best times in my life. My heart is still 100% with this institution, every day.鈥�

Landman鈥檚 position on the 麻豆视频 Board of Trustees was filled by the appointment of Laura Moody in May 2022.
