Registration Open Now for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Youth Golf Camp

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is hosting the P.J. Wilson and Henry Scott Youth Golf Camp June 11-21 for the 26th straight season.

Golf Coach Jamie Howell instructing youth golf campers at outdoor driving rangeThe free minority youth golf program teaches youth the basic skills of golf, including golf course etiquette, conduct, and sportsmanship as well as values for successful living such as self-confidence and goal setting.

The camp will be from June 11 to June 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Thursday and is open to children ages 10 to 17 with pre-registration required.

The golf camp will be held at the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Fred Gay Golf Academy at 3570 State Road 524 in Cocoa and drinks and snacks will be provided.

The camp started in 1992 with assistance from Scott and Wilson, two African American golf professionals in Brevard County.

For years it was best known as the Minority Golf Camp because of its efforts to reach out to minorities, but it's always been open to all young people.

Youth must pre-register before June 1, 2018 and the form can be found in the Fan Zone/Camps section on or during an orientation session on Thursday, May 31 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. held at the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Cocoa Campus Community Dining Room, Bldg. 11, 1519 Clearlake Rd, Cocoa, FL, 32922.
