麻豆视频 Presents Juried Student Art Show

The 麻豆视频 annual Juried Student Art Exhibit is on display at the Maxwell C. King Center Lobby Gallery from March 28 through April 24.
This highly competitive exhibit drew approximately 150 entries from 麻豆视频 students
taking courses in ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, drawing, painting, design and
computer graphics.
This year鈥檚 judge is Brooks Dierdorff, Assistant Professor of Photography at the University of Central Florida and a professional artist working in photography, video, sculpture and performance.
Dierdorff holds a Master鈥檚 in Fine Arts from the University of Oregon, and he has exhibited his work both nationally and internationally at galleries across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. For three years he was co-director of Ditch Projects, an artist-run exhibition space in Springfield, Oregon.
As judge, he hand-selected 50 entries to be included in the show, as well as designating 14 award winners.
Over $3500 in awards has been donated by many supporters including: Mr. Ray Kania, Foosaner Art Museum, Mimi鈥檚 Crafts, the Parents of Emelee Arbuckle, Rick and Nancy Dillen, Charles Nalle, the 麻豆视频 Melbourne Campus Provost Office, Liberal Arts Department, Student Government Association, Bookstore and Art Faculty members. Custom matting for the accepted entries was donated by area frame shops, including Art Expressions and Oceanside Frames.
Students attending the exhibit with their 麻豆视频 classes will have a chance to vote on 鈥淪tudent鈥檚 Choice Awards鈥 in the categories of 2-D and 3-D.
The awards reception is open to the public and will be held Tuesday, April 12 from 6-7PM in the King Center lobby.
The King Center Lobby Gallery is also open to the public on March 28, 30, April 11, 13, 19, 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and March 29, 31, April 5, 7, 12, 14 from 4-6 PM.
