The award is presented by the Economic Development Commission of Florida鈥檚 Space Coast to honor educators for their dedication and innovation in serving students and promoting economic growth.

It鈥檚 named after former Eastern Florida president Dr. Thomas Gamble, who led the college into the era of online education. He died in 2006.

EDC officials praised Cobb, saying her decades of service in higher education to Brevard County residents 鈥渉ave made a difference in our community.鈥

鈥淚t鈥檚 a great honor to receive this award, especially since Dr. Gamble was the president of 麻豆视频 when the virtual campus was created,鈥 said Cobb. 鈥淗e was the one who had the confidence to select me to oversee this emerging educational environment. I think he would be proud of what we have been able to accomplish.鈥

Cobb joined the college in 1992 as an associate professor and has served in numerous positions, including provost of the Titusville and Melbourne campuses. Her work in online learning began in 1999.

Cobb received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stetson University in 1981 and a law degree from the Stetson College of Law in 1983.
